Philosophy of Our Programs:
Seeking Self does not offer yoga in the form of gymnastics or acrobatics. Seeking Self offers yoga in which the focus is on the journey towards self awareness, self integration, and self transformation. To facilitate this focus inward, we offer programs consisting of yoga, yogic philosophy, pranayama (art of breath), and meditation. Through these practices, parts of yourself you never knew existed will begin to become more clear. You will gain clarity of emotions, habits, self-set limitations, passions, truth, and inner wisdom. These shifts created in your inner world will have direct results in your external experience of life. Ignorance will slowly be transmuted into greater consciousness.
In order for transformation to occur, practice and repetition of these teachings are necessary. Therefore, Seeking Self asks for a level of commitment. We offer a first class free, but afterwards we do not accept drop in’s. We ask for enrollment into one of our programs.
By offering programs rather than drop in classes, the teacher is able to cover more without re-explaining asanas, meditation technique, breathing technique, and philosophy. This enables class time to be spent on self-practice rather than on instruction, allowing the student to have a more profound experience and better use of time.
Lastly, by joining our programs you can expect to see familiar faces weekly. A strong and supportive community will enable the budding of new friendships based on similar goals, interests, and passions.
Seeking Self offers multi week programs, typically from 5 - 8 weeks, in formats for both the teenagers and adults.
