FAQ's

What time does the camp start and end?

The camp day starts at 9am, although we ask that campers arrive at 8:50am to get acclimated before the day starts. Typically during this time, campers put their lunches in the kitchen, turn their phones off, roll out their yoga mats, and take a few moments to relax before yoga begins. Camp ends at 2pm.

What if I need to pick up my child early?

Not a problem! You can let Shannon know in the morning and she will make sure your camper is ready for pickup at the needed time.

How old are your campers?

Our campers range from 11 up to 18 years old, entering grades 6th through 12th. Depending on the activity, we will either keep all campers together or divide into groups based off of the grade each camper is entering.

What do campers wear at the camp?

Our camp is an active day! Campers should wear sneakers that they can be outside in and clothes that they can go for nature walks in or play games in. For our beach camps, campers should also bring a bathing suit to change into.

What should my child bring to camp?

The essentials: Lunch, Snack, yoga mat, Sunscreen, Bugspray, Water Bottle.

Additionally for the Beach Yoga camps: Swimsuit, towel, flipflops.

 

What medical staff do you have on site?

Our staff is First Aid and CPR certified. We'll also be in touch with families immediately in case there is a medical condition we need to address. At the Manasquan Reservoir there are trained Rangers on site. At Seven President’s Beach there are trained lifeguards on site.

 

My child has severe allergies and needs to bring an Epi-pen, what should I do?

Please bring the Epi-pen with you to camp, clearly labeling it. Speak to Shannon about the specific allergies. In the case of an emergency, we would assist with the Epi-pen.

What do campers eat for lunch?

Families are responsible for bringing snack and lunch each day!  Depending on site, we will have a refrigerator or cooler to store the lunches. You can click your specific camp of interest to read about the facilities of that location.

What is required to enroll for camp?

In order to enroll, you'll need to fill out our registration form on the website, inputting your information. With the exception of our Yoga & Movement Camp at Seeking Self, all of our other camps are located at Monmouth County Parks and therefore payment will be coordinated through them. After you register on our website, you will receive an email with the link to make your payment on Monmouth County Parks website.

 

 Leading up to camp, we'll also ask you to complete a waiver and consent form to make sure that your camper is ready to go for the summer!

When do I need to pay for the camp?

Either with registration or soon after. We ask that families take care of the balance before coming to camp on the first day. 

Can I change weeks after I’ve already signed up? How do I do it?

Absolutely - we want the thought of summer camp to be as enjoyable for you as it is for your child(ren). You only need to contact us at 732-625-7843 or info@seekingself.com and we’ll be happy to help!
